I love to write about my children because they are so much fun. My son Justin is an especially fun topic. He is a subject which I love to discuss because he is just such a conversation piece. I was sharing with a lady from my church years ago, how funny it is that Justin used to sit in my lap, even when he was a teenager.
Mind you this is was a 6 ft tall 15 year old young man, who thinks its funny to have me hold him. I don’t mind a bit of course until my legs start going numb and then I toss him out.
When his dad stopped by one day to pick him up, he came in for a bit and Justin plopped in his lap. I was thinking to myself Aha, he does this to his dad too. I laughed and said “Did you ever imagine he would get this big?” We were all laughing about his antics when Justin says in a childlike teasing voice, “Tell me who my daddy is.” His dad Jerry laughed and Justin continued to say, “Who’s my daddy?” “Who’s my daddy?” Until his dad relented and said the famous words, “I’m your daddy.”
We laughed about this for a while. It’s upon reflection today, I realized that every moment can be a teaching one if my heart is open and I’m listening to the voice that speaks softly to my heart.
Whenever I have had a rough day or a time when I just wasn’t sure what to do, I have always been able to go to my heavenly Father and the answer was right there. Over the last few weeks I have seen in numerous situations, my Father doing the impossible and showing me that He will always take care of me. Even in my moments of weakness, He was strong. Eventually I was able to recognize the steps I needed to take to get me on the same page.
When I needed to hear His voice, I simply had to crawl in His lap, and whisper “Tell me who my daddy is.” Without a moments hesitation, I always hear, “I’m your daddy.” Most of the time He is wondering why it took me so long to come to Him.
You don’t have to be super spiritual to experience this kind of protection and love. You just have to say yes when He knocks on the door of your heart.
If you haven’t experienced this kind of amazing relationship with God. I will introduce you to Him.
