Looking For Love in All The Wrong Places

The world has cheapened love it seems. It no longer means as much as it used to 50 years ago. Maybe it does to some people, but not to the masses. Not to the hundreds of thousands of people who decide to “hook up” on a Friday night, with no thought whatsoever to the consequences of the future. When people are looking for love in all the wrong places, as that famous country song says, they never find it. This is because it’s not in the bars, or in the arms of the wrong person.

When you are searching for something or someone to fulfill the emptiness inside your soul. Mr. Wrong or Ms. Wrong is not going to do the trick. Sure, they might make you feel good for the night. But, by morning, the void inside of you will grow and grow, until it is as big as a black hole. You have got to stop filling the nothingness with the wrong things and seek the only thing that will give you what you really need to find peace.  Jesus!

He alone can turn your sorrow into gladness.  He alone can turn mourning in dancing. He alone can make nothing into something. He has already done it for so many people.

Maybe you don’t even want to face the darkness you feel. You know it is there. It is still a feeling so raw and gripping, that even dealing with it brings up the wounds of your past. They are too deep to show to the world.  Well, guess what, you don’t have to show them to anyone but the Savior. He can heal all of your wounds. The ones that are visible to the world, and the ones only you can see.

You just have to trust Him. Are you ready to place your trust in someone that is trustworthy?  All of this time you have been putting it in people who have never proven themselves to you.  They have only let you down. In fact, I bet some of the scars you carry, came from some of the people who once said, “I love you.”

He knows every tear you cry. Every number of hairs on your head. He knew you before you were even created in your mother womb. He is waiting for you to come to Him and give Him the wounds you carry. The broken dreams you have inside of your heart, and the empty promises that were broken so many times. He wants to heal it all.

Love can be the most beautiful thing you experience. As long as it is with the right person. Once you heal your heart, and once you know you have the emptiness filled with Jesus. Then you can find your Mr. or Ms. Right.
