The dragonfly so wild and free,
On the wind she came to me.
So soft and gentle in the air,
Her wings a flutter, body fair.
I longed to join her in the sky,
She landed as if to ask me why.
And looked into my longing eyes,
Then up she went into the skies.
I begged her wait for me my friend,
I want to play with you again.
She fluttered by so light and gay,
And made me laugh that summer day.
So, if you see a dragonfly,
Please be kind and here is why.
It could be she’s my favorite one,
She came to bring you a little fun.
