Oreos With Jesus

I saw a Facebook post the other day that really made me angry. A guy posted that the symbol on Oreo cookies was the Satanic cross, and that we shouldn’t buy them anymore because we are supporting bad things. I don’t typically get involved in battles on social media. However, this particular post got to me. My thoughts were in a million directions. Had Christianity sunk so low, that we now were resorting to stopping people from eating certain cookies in order to keep them from the gates of hell?

I was ashamed of my religion in this moment and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to call these people my people any longer. They had become the religious fanatics you read about in news articles. I asked the gentleman in a kind way “what sin are the people committing when they eat Oreo’s, is it gluttony?” He replied that he wanted them to be informed about what Satan was doing.

My question would be, does Satan own stock in Oreo’s? Is there some nefarious plan to reach people through subliminal messages as they eat their cookies? Mine usually only tell me to eat more. What do yours tell you?

I am so disappointed in the people who spread this type of propaganda in the name of Christianity. No where in the Bible does it say to do this kind of thing. We are told to spread the gospel. Not spread bologna! The worst thing about this type of message is when people hear and see this, they want nothing to do with Jesus, and he would probably like Oreos.
