Leaving a legacy,
What’s in your dash?
Hope for the future,
Based on your past.
Your dash is the line,
Between life and death.
It symbolizes your life,
While you still had breath.
What will it speak,
This life you have led?
When you’re not around,
What will be said?
Will material things,
Be what you’ve worked for?
Cars, homes, clothing,
Bank accounts and more?
Or will you put others,
At the top of your file?
Sharing your love,
Making relationships worthwhile?
Will you leave a mark,
That others will see.
Will you make a difference,
With your legacy?
Each one of leaves,
A mark on this earth.
The question is what hopes,
Your legacy will birth?
When your life is over,
No more moments to grasp.
What will others be saying,
About your life and your dash?
