I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Now I lay me down to sleep.

But sleep just laughs,

and says no dreams.

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

It’s the thought he might not want me,

That keeps me from sleep.

If I should die before I wake.

Will I miss this life,

Or was I wasted space?

I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Would he want my broken parts,

Or do I all seem fake?

If I should live for another day,

My hope and prayer,

is better than yesterday.

I pray the Lord to guide my way.

So that my soul is ready

On judgment day.
