Overcomer

Overcomer

I’ll not succumb to walls in this room,

I refuse to suffocate in the gloom.

I put aside the seeds of doubt,

The sprouts that grew, I ripped them out!

I took away the clouds of gray,

I’ll bid the sun to shine and stay.

I take the hope, its seed so small,

And planted it with dreams of all.

Just to help it cultivate,

I’d push aside all thoughts of hate.

I will not, can not let them in,

The swamp of sadness will not win!

I am a warrior, I conquer woes,

I will be a mighty foe!

Up the mountain I shall climb,

Growing stronger with every rhyme.

I will! I can get to the peak,

And find the hope I truly seek.
