Fifty-Three…
Look at me!
What to show for myself?
I’ve had it all,
Watched myself fall.
Then picked up what was left.
Where am I going?
I’ve been sure to ask.
Though I haven’t told me yet.
But wherever it is,
It won’t be lame.
That is one thing you can bet!
I passed my halfway mark,
I crossed the hill already.
So, now I get to have some fun,
And ride this one fast and steady.
There are no rules,
There are no plans.
Just making sure to love.
I’m going to care for more people now.
And tell them of God above.
I’ll have a little structure,
Then I’ll fall back to crazy.
When I get too normal…
Or things feel stifled or hazy…
Then I’ll just be ME!
No more changing this girl.
She is who she BE!
Like me or don’t.
This is me at Fifty-Three.
